Our Works

Let's start doing your bit for your community.
Join us as a 4th & 5th chapter

Greetings,

It's been eight years since the inception of the Atlantic County Coalition for a Safe Community. Although what seems like a very short period of time, we are now in four communities: Atlantic City, Pleasantville, Galloway, and Egg Harbor City.

When we started the Coalition, our short term goal was to "rid the streets of gun violence in our communities”. Now, we're collaborating on safe and healthy communities with many partners throughout our region. Many of our collaborations include healthy eating, community walks, public safely, education, employment, and advocacy.

The Coalition’s approach in each one of our communities is unique, not only because of the organizations and volunteers involved in leading their local efforts, but rather, the causes and solutions pursued in these towns and cities are specific to the needs that exist.

Most recently, we held our 2nd Annual Teen Summit at Stockton University. It was a very successful event, with over 200 students in attendance from 10 area high schools. Another ongoing initiative is our Community Walks, which have been so successful in Atlantic City that we have expanded our collaboration to also include agencies providing educational information to community residents. This year we're proud to say we'll hold our first community walks in the cities of both Pleasantville and Egg Harbor City.

In addition, we're proud of our various "signature programs” such as the Coalition’s Summer Photography Program, Farm to Fork Program, and our Chromebook Program, just to name a few.

So much has happened in the last 8 years that it is difficult put all of our activities and impact into a one page Executive Summary document. In the upcoming months, the Coalition looks forward to spreading our mission throughout Atlantic County and beyond.

Finally, if you or your organization would like to join, please reach out to me via email at: perrymays6037@yahoo.com

The Atlantic County Coalition for a Safe Community would like to take this time to thank all of our partners for their part in ensuring our success over the past eight years.

Warm Regards,

Perry Mays
